FAQ’s

Care and Maintenance

Are ceramic tiles resistant to oils and acids?

Yes. Ceramic and porcelain tiles are highly resistant. The combination of hardness and low- moisture absorption rate make ceramic floor tile impervious to virtually all acids. (Test data is available for each of our products from its manufacturer)

How hard is it to clean ceramic tile?

Ceramic tile is by far the easiest floor covering to clean, with the least amount of maintenace needed. Ceramic tile is easily cleaned with general household cleaners. Not to be confused with Natural Stone (slate, granite, travertine & marble), which requires special cleaners and finishes from our DuPont StoneTech line.

How is Ceramic Tile Made?

Powdered clays and sand are pressed under 2,400 psi (pounds per square inch) into the desired tile shape. Next, the tile is glazed with different colors using a digital ink jet process, then fired at temperatures reaching 1,180° C or 2,500° F. The finished product is a durable, maintenance-free tile that comes in a variety of finishes, colors and textures.
